Couria Creek is a paradise for bird watchers. The plethora of bird life that the property sustains is truly amazing – with over 95 species observed. From delicate Silvereyes and Wrens, colourful Rainbow Lorikeets and King Parrots, through to magnificent White-bellied Sea Eagles there is something for all bird watchers to enjoy.
For the avid bird observer, Autumn, Winter and Spring are the best seasons to visit Couria Creek, with a high proportion of the birds listed frequenting the property. In the warmer months some species seek the cool of Gulaga/Mt Dromedary, but nevertheless bird life is still plentiful during this time. Visitors can also enjoy nearby Wallaga, Corunna and Nangudga Lakes – and other local rivers and estuaries – where wetland and coastal bird species abound.
